Beginning with a "Friends and Neighbors Sneak Preview" at 9AM, Brunswick Crossing's development team was on hand to introduce this dynamic new project to the community. Hundreds of neighbors and  local dignitaries were in attendance at the morning event to preview the three decorated models and Visitors Cottage.

Along the walls locals will find hats representing many of Brunswick's civic organizations, schools, signature activities and clubs. This display will rotate over the following months to spotlight the various organizations in the greater Brunswick community.

After touring the Visitors Cottage, prospective home buyers explored three beautifully decorated models by Advantage Homes. The Jefferson and Asbury models are traditional single family home styles while The Essex brings a neo-traditional design to the community through incorporation of alley ways and friendly pedestrian oriented streetscapes. Pleasants Development anticipates unveiling plans for townhomes and age-targeted villa style homes featuring first floor master bedrooms in the first half of next year.

Buyers visiting Brunswick Crossing were able to drive the recently completed roadways, view potential new homesites and see progress on the construction of over 26-miles of paved trails walkways planned for the community. Brunswick Crossing Makes a Great First Impression With 3 Model Homes by Advantage Homes.

9/29/09

Brunswick Crossing, a 552-acre planned community located in Brunswick, Maryland, will officially introduce its first new homes for sale in November 2009, and the community is already making a great first impression.

That’s because Brunswick Crossing’s progress is so clearly visible from Maryland Route 17, which borders the northeastern edge of the community and provides ultra easy access to Route 340 less than half a mile away. As anyone arriving or leaving Brunswick on Route 17 can see, much of the initial infrastructure is complete, many of the roads are in, and three model homes by Advantage Homes are under roof and nearing completion.

“Opening up with 3 decorated model homes sends a very clear message,” said Jerry Connelly, Senior Vice President of Pleasants Development, Inc., the developer of Brunswick Crossing. “While some builders and developers prefer to test the waters and sell from off site or open with a single model, we’re fully committed, invested and determined to make Brunswick Crossing the most dynamic and exciting new community in Frederick County.”

Advantage Homes is equally committed to ensuring Brunswick Crossing flourishes right from the start. They are building three of its most popular single family home models at Brunswick Crossing—The Jefferson, The Asbury, and The Essex. The Jefferson and Asbury models are part of its Manor Series of traditional single family homes while the Essex Model is part of its Americana Series of neo-traditional homes.

Eco-conscious homebuyers will appreciate the fact that all of the homes offered by Advantage Homes at Brunswick Crossing are Energy Star certified, which means they are designed to be more efficient and generate significant energy cost savings year after year.

“Advantage Homes builds a great home,” added Connelly. “People who know Advantage Homes from their offerings in Urbana Highlands will be especially excited to see its pricing here. Advantage Homes is initially offering many of the exact same home designs, with the same upscale features and finishes, at noticeably lower prices at Brunswick Crossing.”

Of course, what makes the home values even greater are all of the amenities new residents will enjoy at Brunswick Crossing.

Within easy walking distance of the new homes will be the Brunswick Crossing Community Center. This resort-style amenity will feature a clubhouse, separate pool house, fitness center, 25 meter lap lane swimming pool with open swim area, kiddie pool, interactive splash zone, tennis courts, sports field, event lawn, outdoor fireplace, playground and more. Construction of the clubhouse is scheduled to begin in 2010.

Construction has already begun on another signature amenity at Brunswick Crossing, a 26-mile network of paved trails and walkways that will meander throughout the community. From these trails and walkways, new residents will enjoy access to Brunswick Crossing’s forest conservation area which preserves nearly 100 acres of  stream valley woodlands that run through the heart of the community.

Another eagerly anticipated amenity is the Marketplace at Brunswick Crossing, located right off Route 17 at the entrance to the community. The Marketplace will feature a grocery store and a variety of shops, restaurants and conveniences. Opportunities may also provide for live/work opportunities with residences above first floor retail.

While the spotlight today is focused on Brunswick Crossing’s new homes and amenities, Brunswick, Maryland has always offered a fabulous array of natural and man-made amenities.

New homeowners at Brunswick Crossing will have easy access to the MARC Train, located less than 5 minutes away from the community in Downtown Brunswick. The MARC Train connects commuters to employment centers in Frederick, Germantown, Gaithersburg, Rockville, and Washington, DC. It also connects with Metro’s redline in Rockville.

New homeowners at Brunswick Crossing will also enjoy the unique and friendly shops of downtown Brunswick and surrounding the community, great fishing and boating along the Potomac River, fabulous hiking and biking on the C&O Canal Towpath, and a variety of recreation attractions at the Brunswick Family Campground. They’re all just minutes away from Brunswick Crossing and easily accessible via the trails and walkways that connect the community to downtown Brunswick.

Moms and dads will be happy to hear that Brunswick Crossing’s younger residents will have easy access to high quality Frederick County schools. Not only do Brunswick Elementary School, Brunswick Middle School and Brunswick High School enjoy strong support and participation from the community, they are all located in Brunswick just minutes from Brunswick Crossing.

Brunswick Crossing remains on schedule to open its new model homes in November 2009. The community is located in Brunswick, Maryland, about 15 miles from Frederick, Maryland, 20 miles from Leesburg, Virginia, and 45 miles from Washington, DC. Brunswick Crossing, a Dynamic New Planned Community in Brunswick, Maryland, is Opening this November.

Brunswick Crossing, a dynamic new planned community in Brunswick, Maryland, and one of the most eagerly anticipated communities in Frederick County, is on schedule to open its Model Park and Visitors Cottage in November 2009.

Brunswick Crossing is situated on 552 acres in the heart of the Potomac River Valley in Brunswick, Maryland, where the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains and the Potomac River meet.

The site is currently buzzing with construction activity as the community’s first 3 models are near completion and site development and infrastructure work continues throughout the community. Even with all of the activity, it’s easy to see what makes this site such a special setting for a new planned community.

“The views don’t get much prettier than this,” said Jerry Connelly, Senior Vice President of Pleasants Development, Inc., the developer of Brunswick Crossing, as he looked out over Brunswick Crossing and across the Potomac River Valley. “There may be other communities with great homes and amenities, but this setting simply can’t be duplicated.”

At the heart of Brunswick Crossing is the community’s forest conservation area which preserves nearly 100 acres of stream valley woodlands. Views of the valley stretch for miles and the Potomac River is just a stone’s throw away. Yet, for prospective homebuyers, this connection to the great outdoors is only one of many reasons Brunswick Crossing is such an appealing place to call home.

Pleasants Development has big plans for the amenities at Brunswick Crossing, starting with the Community Center. Upon its completion, this resort-style amenity will feature a clubhouse with fabulous entertaining spaces indoors and out, a separate pool house with a fitness center, a 25 meter swimming pool with open swim area and slide, kiddie pool, interactive splash zone, tennis courts, sports field, event lawn, outdoor fireplace, playground and more. Homebuyers at Brunswick Crossing will be excited to learn that construction of the Clubhouse is scheduled to begin in 2010.

“Often, the first homeowners in a community have to wait many years before signature amenities go in,” said Connelly. “ We’re taking a much different approach at Brunswick Crossing. We’re making significant up front investments so that homeowners will be able to enjoy a beautiful new clubhouse with entertaining spaces, a media room, and an expansive rear patio with stunning views of the valley all to be built in our first stages of development. We’re also paving miles of trails and walkways that will meander throughout our protected stream valley woodlands and give our homeowners walking and biking access to downtown Brunswick, the MARC Train, the Potomac River, C&O Canal and the Brunswick Family Campground.”

Upon its completion, Brunswick Crossing’s network of paved trails and walkways will stretch for over 26 miles and cross approximately 20 bridges, all right within the community.

Another signature amenity, one that will be enjoyed by every resident of Brunswick, is the Marketplace at Brunswick Crossing. Anchored by a new grocery store, the Marketplace at Brunswick Crossing will also feature a variety of shops, restaurants, conveniences and community gathering spaces, all within walking distance of the homes.

Prospective homeowners who appreciate authentic small town charm will feel right at home in historic downtown Brunswick. Much of its architecture dates from the late 1800’s and today it’s home to a variety of independent shops and restaurants. Downtown is also the social hub of Brunswick, especially during the summer months when it hosts events like Arts in the Park, First Friday, Movies in the Park, and the weekly Brunswick Area Farmers’ Market. In the fall, Brunswick hosts an annual event called Railroad Days, which attracts thousands of visitors to celebrate Brunswick’s rail town heritage with music, food, and activities for the whole family. This year, Railroad Days is scheduled for Saturday, October 3 and Sunday, October 4.

While the railroad contributed greatly to Brunswick’s growth in the late 1890’s, today it is the commuter rail that’s attracting new residents to Brunswick. Anyone who has ever had to sit through rush hour traffic on I-270 or I-66 will love having access to the Brunswick MARC Train, located just minutes from Brunswick Crossing. It connects commuters to employment centers in Frederick, Germantown, Gaithersburg, Rockville and Washington, DC, and even links up to Metro in Rockville.

For nature lovers and outdoor enthusiasts, Brunswick Crossing offers a dream location. The community is just a few minutes away from the Potomac River, which means great fishing, kayaking, canoeing and camping can be enjoyed at a moment’s notice. Hugging the river is the C&O Canal towpath. Popular among hikers and bikers of all ages and skill levels, it stretches for over 180 miles, all the way from Cumberland, Maryland to Washington, DC.

In addition to its enviable natural and manmade amenities, Brunswick Crossing boasts another tremendous attraction—affordable homes. Prospective homebuyers will soon see just how far their dollars go when Advantage Homes opens its models in November. Committed to helping save the environment and homebuyers money on their utility bills, Advantage Homes is building Energy Star certified single family homes and neo-traditional homes with detached garages tucked in back.

“We’re very fortunate to have Advantage Homes building our very first homes at Brunswick Crossing,” said Connelly. “They’ve earned a great reputation in Frederick County, thanks in part to their continued success at Urbana Highlands. With three Advantage Homes models nearing completion, we’re confident that Brunswick Crossing is going to generate a lot of excitement right from the start.”

Brunswick Crossing remains on schedule to open its new model homes in November 2009. The community is located in Brunswick, Maryland, about 15 miles from Frederick, Maryland, 20 miles from Leesburg, Virginia, and 45 miles from Washington, DC. Community Ground Breaking Ceremony Celebrates the Evolution of Brunswick, Maryland.

It’s official. Twenty heaping shovelfuls of dirt were turned over on Thursday, September 20th in Brunswick, Maryland, signifying that development is underway at Brunswick Crossing, the next great section of the city.

Brunswick Mayor Carroll Jones, the day’s Master of Ceremony, welcomed the attendees and guests, many of whom spoke about the future of Brunswick Crossing.

Guest speakers included Edward Gladstone, Chair of the City of Brunswick Planning Commission; LaVerne Gray, Maryland Department of Planning; Delegate Richard Weldon, District 3B; William D. Pleasants, Jr., President of Pleasants Development, Inc.; Louis Iaquinta, IKO Development, Inc.; and Jerry Connelly, Sr. Vice President of Pleasants Development, Inc.

“It was great to hear people speak with such pride for the city of Brunswick,” said Don Pleasants, [Founder and Chairman] of Pleasants Development, Inc, the developer of Brunswick Crossing. “We feel a tremendous responsibility to the people of Brunswick and are absolutely committed to making Brunswick Crossing a great addition to the city.”

Brunswick Crossing will grow up on 552 acres located right off Maryland 17, about two miles from downtown Brunswick, the Potomac River and the MARC Train. The setting is prized for many reasons, chief among them are its rolling topography and views of the nearby Appalachian Mountains.

“Brunswick is located in the heart of the Potomac River Valley so the scenery here is spectacular,” said Jerry Connelly, Sr. Vice President, Pleasants Development. “In fact, the views from our property greatly influenced our site plan design for Brunswick Crossing. We spent countless hours walking and surveying the property with an eye towards preserving its natural beauty for all of our future residents to enjoy. Wait until you see the views from our community recreation center and pool house.”

The community center and pool are among the many recreation amenities planned for Brunswick Crossing, which will also feature 130 acres of green space, miles of walking and biking trails, open areas and pocket parks. Paths from the community will connect up with the C&O Canal Towpath, which leads to a huge park, boat launch and campground right on the banks of the Potomac River.

In addition to so many desirable amenities, the grand plan for Brunswick Crossing includes a mix of single family homes, townhomes, condominiums, 55 or Better-targeted homes, and an upscale retail center with shops, restaurants and a grocery store.

While Brunswick Crossing’s scale is impressive—upon its completion it could nearly double the city’s current population of 5,000—the Pleasants design team is taking a thoughtful approach to the community’s development.

“Brunswick Crossing will grow gradually over time, much like Brunswick itself did,” said Connelly. “We will build no more than 175 homes per year. The community will feel like a series of smaller, naturally evolving neighborhoods. Rather than build all of the single family homes in one area and then all of the townhomes in another, we will blend them so that in many cases they share the same street. In addition, our age-targeted homes won’t all be grouped in one section; they’ll be mixed throughout the community. We believe this natural diversity of home styles and lifestyles will create a more authentic sense of community and a natural extension of the city of Brunswick.”

A lot of developers talk about being a part of the larger community, but Pleasants Development continues to deliver on its promise. Rather than erecting a monument at the entrance to Brunswick Crossing, Pleasants will create a monument that celebrates the entire city. Soon to be situated on Maryland Route 17, a new stone monument will read “Welcome To Brunswick”.

The architecture of Brunswick Crossing will boast modern features and technology, yet at the same time, reflect the character and charm of the area. The planned recreation center will exude the elegance of a grand manor home overlooking the Potomac River Valley. The barn-inspired pool house will pay homage to the property’s farm-country heritage. A variety of home styles, including many with front porches and detached garages tucked in back, will create the look of a classic American neighborhood. And all of the little details and finishing touches, including signage and streetlights, will be reminiscent of Brunswick’s historic downtown.

Added Connelly, “Brunswick is the kind of place where people get to know their neighbors and family friendships go on for generations. In every way possible, we want to keep that spirit alive right here in Brunswick Crossing.”

Construction will soon begin on Brunswick Crossing and sales are projected to begin in late 2009. For more information about this next great community to the city of Brunswick, and to view the community plan, renderings, photos and more, please visit BrunswickCrossing.com.
